Living Your Yoga - Journey to Freedom

As we evolve, we will no longer offer our traditional 200hr or 300hr Yoga Teacher Trainings. Instead, we’ve curated a program designed to help you truly embody yoga — not just as something you “do,” but as a way of living and being.

This program is for anyone ready to dive deeper into self-study, personal growth, and the rich philosophy of yoga. Whether your intention is simply to live your yoga or to eventually share it with others, this training meets you where you are.

For those called to teach, a mentorship path is available to guide you toward certification. But for all participants, the heart of this journey is learning to live authentically, grow courageously, and let your true light shine — because the world needs your genuine brilliance now more than ever.

Take the step. Begin your journey. Discover how living your yoga can change everything.

Why "Living Your Yoga" Is a Journey to Freedom
Living Your Yoga is about more than deepening your knowledge — it’s about learning to live with greater ease, resilience, and authenticity. This journey invites you to embody the wisdom of yoga so you can navigate life — its beauty and its hardships — with clarity and compassion.

Through this program, you will:
Cultivate emotional freedom – Understand and process emotions without becoming consumed by them, so you can respond rather than react.
Support your nervous system – Build practices that regulate stress, soothe anxiety, and create a sense of safety within your own body.
Transform trauma and grief – Gently integrate the tools of yoga, mindfulness, and breath to create space for healing and release.
Strengthen mind, body, and spirit – Develop habits and rituals that nurture a grounded, balanced, and vibrant life.
Live in alignment – Learn to move through the world guided by your values, your truth, and your innate wisdom.

When yoga becomes a way of being, it becomes a roadmap to freedom — freedom from old patterns, limiting beliefs, and the constant noise of the world. This program is your invitation to return home to yourself, embody your practice, and step into the life you were meant to live.

Satya YTT

Welcome to Yoga Studio Satya - Your Colorado Springs Yoga Studio!

Satya is a Sanskrit word for truth.  It is through our practice that we find the space to return to our true nature.  When we listen to the whispers of the heart, it guides us in the direction of joy and love.  We sometimes get lost in the distraction of expectation, fear and doubt, but when we step on the mat and return to breath, compassion and acceptance for all beings (including yourself), you allow your journey to unfold however it's supposed to as you return to your path - your truth. Our Satya instructors are passionate about sharing the teachings of yoga and helping to weave and blend philosophy, meditation and breath practices with real life experiences to help guide you safely on and off the mat.  Yoga is therapeutic and can be a sustainable, life-long practice to help support your mind, body & spirit.  At Satya, we encourage people to show up as they are, let yourself explore what your body is willing and able to do today and find gratitude in what is.  BE YOU! Yoga Studio Satya is a welcoming community for beginning and experienced yogis in Colorado Springs. We offer a variety of different yoga styles that are perfect for students of all skill levels, abilities and body types. Whether you're dealing with an injury or just feeling "not bendy", we have classes to support each individual's needs.

As the body softens and opens, so does the mind — revealing the quiet strength and clarity within.  Our offerings include yoga wall, restorative, sound baths, gentle somatic yoga, vinyasa, pilates, Yoga Nidra, and more! At Yoga Studio Satya, we encourage you to live your yoga on and off the mat! Call us today at (719) 203-4525

Yoga - A Journey of Union and Presence

The word yoga means “union” — the harmony of mind, body, and spirit. Through conscious breathwork and intentional movement, and supportive philosophy, yoga creates a pathway back to yourself — balancing strength with softness, focus with ease, and effort with surrender.
At Yoga Studio Satya, your Colorado Springs yoga studio, our classes are designed to help you:
Release tension and restore balance in the body
Strengthen and tone muscles while supporting healthy joints as you age
Calm the nervous system to reduce stress and anxiety
Cultivate presence and mindfulness in your everyday life

Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or have been practicing for years, our studio is a safe and welcoming space to explore. Come with an open mind and a willingness to discover the possibilities within your practice. Comfortable clothing is recommended, and our experienced teachers are here to guide you — offering adjustments, modifications, and alignment support to keep you safe while honoring your unique body.

Yoga is More Than a Physical Practice
At Yoga Studio Satya, we offer more than just movement — yoga is a practice of living mindfully and intentionally. We invite every student to explore a balanced approach that includes:
Breathwork (Pranayama) to calm, energize, and center
Meditation to build focus and awareness
Asana to cultivate strength, flexibility, and ease

By linking breath, body, and awareness, you’ll develop tools that support not just your practice, but your life — improving stress management, emotional balance, and overall well-being.  Our guides are supportive and encourage you to make the right choices for your body as they create a space of safety and inclusivity.  This helps you learn to listen to your inner guidance, and live your yoga off the mat.

Our Commitment to You
At Yoga Studio Satya, we practice the true intention of yoga: respect, compassion, and connection. Our instructors bring diverse expertise — from alignment and anatomy to injury recovery, trauma-informed practices, and deep yogic philosophy — to meet you where you are and help you grow safely and confidently.
Here, you are supported not just as a student, but as part of a community committed to healing, growth, and transformation.  We are your Colorado Springs therapeutic studio where yoga is NOT a performance.

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self” — is from the Bhagavad Gita, specifically Chapter 6, Verse 20-23

  • "After my first month introduction offer at Yoga Studio Satya, I have decided to continue with classes at this studio. Yoga and meditation has changed my life in the one month since I started, and I highly recommend it for anyone suffering with anxiety and/or grief.

The instructors are amazing, knowing that I am new to this, I received special care from them. They are also supportive of each other, often attending each other's classes.
The other customers are so welcoming, it really feels like a home and not a studio.

I encourage any of my local friends who may be interested to check them out. They have an amazing first month offer. $49 dollars and you can take as many classes as you want. I highly suggest yoga nidra, and restorative yoga. They also have gong baths with an amazing instructor/musician. The experience is "out of body"."

It's not just a few classes and a pleasant setting. They are about the whole person all of the time - not just while in class. They offer a variety of workshops on mental health, healing, drama, recovery, etc."

It takes time to find ourselves...the vibration and courtesy to be yourself is palatable and friendly with the teachers, at the workshops, and in the various classes offered. To be greeted at the door, to begin moving, and then to be connected with yourself on the mat and then continuing the connection off the mat with yourself and others produces change and gives purpose."

Meet Our Teachers

  • Amanda

I discovered yoga in 2005 and began teaching in 2009. After receiving a BA of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Colorado in 2000, I worked as an interior designer in Colorado, Vermont and Hawaii. Having a touch of wanderlust, I left my life in Maui to travel in hopes of seeing the world and learning another language. I wound up in Switzerland as a nanny learning to speak Italian, eating amazing Italian cuisine and yet I felt disconnected from community and self. After returning home to Colorado I realized that yoga helped me feel a deeper connection to nature, community and my true self. My passion urged me loudly to become a certified yoga instructor and share this experience. Eager and ready to begin teaching I found my path looking a bit clouded after a car accident that turned into 4 years of rehabilitation, severe chronic pain and ultimately surgery. The journey to recovery can be long but with Yoga, Pilates and Meditation I reclaimed my health, strength and sense of wholeness. I am grateful to have experienced such challenges so that I am better equipped to help others create wellness and ease within themselves; body, mind and spirit.

  • Brittney

After my first yoga class, I immediately fell in love with the comfort & freedom of space on my mat. The curiosity grew by being upside down-(what a perspective!) then openly wanted to learn what this also had in store for me; self- exploration, community, passion & surrendering.
Yoga & conscious breath helped me dig deep into healing physical & emotional trauma and to me, it was magic. That led me to receive my Reiki 1 Certification & a passion for holistic healing.
I received my certification for children's yoga in 2014 when I
realized I wanted to teach. I now am enrolled in Satya's
YTT, where its full of wisdom and I continue to grow into the person I love!
I believe yoga is medicine in motion and feeds the soul.
I want to share and teach classes that get you out of your head and into your body. I am passionate about the value of pranayama, balance, organic movement & guided meditation.

  • Colten

I feel lucky to be a manager at Yoga Studio Satya and engage with this community daily.  I'm surrounded by uplifting and inspiring people that are passionate about what they offer and I'm honored to be a part of this yoga journey with YOU!

  • Heather

I am a Colorado native with a passion for holistic healing. A spine injury in 2013 set me on my path to yoga. I was dealing with debilitating pain and chronic sciatica in both of my legs. It was seriously impacting my quality of life and limiting my mobility. Conventional medicine offered opiates, steroids and surgery. None of which I considered to be an option for me. I knew there was a better way and I turned to yoga.Through yoga I was able to heal my sciatica and manage my back pain. Through yoga, I am able to soothe my mind and nurture my spirit. Through yoga, I grow. I am so grateful for the gift of yoga and for the incredible teachers I've been fortunate to learn from so far. Yoga has changed my life. It is so empowering to have the tools to create ease within the mind, body and spirit no matter what the situation. I intend to continue on this path for life, learning all I can about yoga and holistic healing so that I can share the knowledge with others, empowering them to cultivate wellness within themselves. My yoga journey led me to Yoga Studio Satya where I am currently attending the 200hr YTT program.

  • Kaye

I am married to the love of my life, Wayne, we recently celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary. My husband was in the military we retired in Colorado springs and have lived her for 23 years. We have four unique and awesome children and 7 active grandchildren. My grandchildren bring the joy of youth and innocence into my life, they help me stay young. I also have a cat named Molly. I am a CASA volunteer and love advocating for the children in my cases, a great opportunity to pay it forward. Finding Yoga has given me the opportunity to take a look at myself.

  • Kristal

I am Kristal and I have been practicing various styles of yoga for the past 20 years. As a former gymnast and dancer, yoga offered me the best way to connect my body and my spirit in ways that other forms of physical activity simply did not do and I could (and did) engage in practice wherever I found myself. As a KC-135 pilot in the Air Force, I was away from home more often than I was home, so yoga kept me grounded and at peace when my life was in constant chaos. In 2002, I suffered a catastrophic injury to my spine that ended my flying career and any chance at the normal means of staying healthy, so yoga became integral to my overall health as well as a means to rehabilitate my spine following attempted fusion at L5/S1.

  • Leah

Leah Wilson-Felis is a Colorado Native and began studying yoga and eastern philosophies at a young age with a private mentor, Kimberly Klein, who doubled as her ballet instructor. By age 17 she was certified and teaching yoga classes at a local yoga studio. Following high school in 2007, Leah began her studies in massage therapy at the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy. She is an avid traveler, always searching for opportunity to expand her knowledge of healing modalities, open to new culture and self awareness.

  • Melissa

I first stepped on the mat in 2002 and instantly was enamored with Yoga. I had no idea at that moment how much the practice of yoga would guide and change my life. For several years I practiced off and on when I could “fit it in.” But in 2005, after being hospitalized twice, I found myself broken both physically and emotionally. It was then yoga serendipitously came back into my life. Living in a military town with little to no yoga community, I found a small studio that had just opened and it was there that my yoga journey really began. Over the next couple of years yoga became my sanctuary. I gradually healed through community and practice, embracing the power of asana, meditation, and breath work. It was the practice of yoga that helped me learn to live and cope with a debilitating disease. I did teacher training to take my practice deeper, but along the way realized I wanted to share yoga with others, to empower them to heal, find comfort, and know the tools to really live and be well are within each of us. I’ve now been teaching yoga since 2010. I’m E-RYT 200 Hatha certified with additional training in Yin, Restorative, Therapeutics, Adaptive, Wall & Alignment based yoga. Although initially trained in vinyasa I like to incorporate many styles to meet the needs of my students. I moved to Colorado Springs in 2016 and have been blessed to continue my yoga journey in this beautiful state.

  • Mia

Ciao Yogi belli!I’m the Yogini with the paprikas accent. Being born in Hungary, I had the privilege to grow up in the land of hugging ~ kissing ~ loud ~ laughing ~ gulyas eating ~ dancing ~ singing people. I spent my childhood days mostly outside, bare feet, helping & playing on grandma’s & grandpa’s land in spring & summer & ice skating on frozen lakes in winter. I was 11ish when we moved to Germany, where I was given the opportunity to dive into a new culture, languages & adventures. My passion for Yoga was ignited by an inspiring fitness instructor I used to train with as a teenager.
